The Harry Potter Book Tag

So you know how there are all those awesome book tags floating around? I’ve participated in a few and they are so much fun.

I thought I’d have a go at making my own.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. Or I could just do it on my own. That’s fine too 🙂

Luna Lovegood – a book you’ve read that’s really weird.

The Solitaire Mystery by Jostein Gaarder

 the solitaire mystery

This book is extremely awesome and extremely weird. It contains a sticky-bun book, dwarves, a deck of cards and stories within stories within stories.

It’s also really excellent.

Dolores Umbridge – a book with a really nice cover that you disliked.

Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer

belzhar

Because you know how Umbridge wears pink, and it’s all lovely on the outside? Yeah, Belzhar was like that for me. It looked beautiful but unfortunately it was disappointing.

Fred and George Weasley – a book that made you laugh.

The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – if you haven’t read The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer you are seriously missing out on some awesome shenanigans.

Hermione Granger – a book that makes you feel smart for having read it.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

pride and prejudice

When I say I’ve read Pride and Prejudice, I’ve got to admit that I feel smart. Actually, in years 9 and 10 I read all these classic books, and 99% of the reason is that I thought it would make me smarter. HA. I only liked maybe three of them.

Sybill Trelawney – a book you haven’t read yet (or hasn’t been released) that you just KNOW you’re going to love.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven

all the brigt places

My Rad Read Radar is tingling with this book. I can just tell that I am going to absolutely love it.

And it doesn’t come out til JANUARY.

*sobs*

Severus Snape – a book that has mixed reviews, that you either really enjoyed or really disliked.

The Jewel by Amy Ewing

the jewel

I’m sorry but I really hate Snape. I do. I think he’s a bully. BUT The Jewel is a book that pleasantly surprised me, so go figure.

Harry Potter – a book from your childhood

The Divide by Elizabeth Kay

the divide

How could I make this list without putting Harry himself on here? The Divide is a book I really love – it’s about a boy who goes into a parallel world where science is a myth. And mythical things are real.

It’s really awesome.

And because seven is the magic number, I guess we’ll stop there! Are you going to do my awesome (of course) Harry Potter book tag? And tell me – what’s your favourite HP book?

Oh, and by the way, I know today is supposed to be Loony Blurbs – can you believe I forgot? My post will be up tomorrow so you can still link up!

  1. I’M GOING TO READ THE INTERN! I’M GOING TO! I’m reading something really random about a weird circus right now, but aaaafter. ^-^ It’s the goodness of The Intern for moi. I do like tags like this, but I would absolutely shame myself because I’m not even up to Umbridge. And she doesn’t look nice at all. THE LOLLY PINK IS A GIVEAWAY TO PURE EVIL.

  2. Love it!
By Gaarder, I’ve read Sophie’s World (intriguing) and Through a Glass, Darkly (powerful) and Vita Brevis (why, Augustine, why?? 😡 ), but haven’t got around to The Solitaire Mystery, yet. *adds to tbr*
Prisoner of Azkaban all the way 🙂

      • Yes, it’s so clever, isn’t it? I read it first four (?) years ago when I was considering Philosophy and Ethics A Level, and reread it last summer. I’m still doing Philosophy now. Might reread it again and see if my degree will have influenced how I see the characters and that plot twist. 🙂
Oh, I have a total weakness for whimsical books 😀

  3. One hundred percent, I’m backing you with Belzhar. Pretty. It’s oh so pretty on the cover and nice and matte and urgh. But the inside *shudders*, it was too much for me. Definitely an Umbridge! And oh! P&J, one of my all time favourites. I have so much love for that book. I loved Order of the Phoenix the most! To me, it was kind of the darker turning point, you know? What’s yours??!

AND YES TO THE TAG. IT’S GOLDEN!

  4. This is one of the best tags EVER! Harry Potter gifs are just so versatile and can be used to express feels for pretty much anything. I can’t wait to read ‘All The Bright Places’ – I have a feeling it’s going to be something amazing! 🙂

  5. YES. YES. YES. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS. I’m totally going to do this. Probably within the next week. I love this tag and your GIF’s are on point. I can’t wait for All the Bright Places either. 🙂

  6. This is such a cute tag idea! I am totally going to do it! And I haven’t read any of your picks…which I love because that’s 6 more books for my TBR. My favorite HP book is Prisoner of Azkaban!

  7. Daamn I posted by blurb today 😛
I’m definitely gonna do this. I don’t participate in any of these tags, so I think it’s about time I do. I love the Umbridge one!

  8. *Gasps* You forgot your own meme!? Haha. 🙂 This is awesome, though, I love the Harry Potter theme, because, you know, nothing will ever surpass Harry Potter. 😀 If I find some time next week-ish I’d love to do this! I can’t wait for All the Bright Places, too — it has so much hype surrounding it! And besides, it sounds fantastic. I plan on reading The Jewel soon; hopefully I’ll fall into that category of liking it.

    • I KNOW. Failure level is intense, there 😛 Harry Potter > everything. (that IS the “more than” symbol, right?? Awkward if I’m mixing them up). ALl the Bright Places sounds like it will be heart-breaking, which is of course exciting 😛 and The Jewel was really enjoyable for me, too!

  9. I’m always tempted to try to make my own tag, but then no one would do it and I’d feel bad. The next time I do a tag I’m doing this one! (I’m a big procrastinator, but it will happen) I like how you paired each person to a book! Cool idea! I personally always liked Snape, (But then I love me a good villain) and then the last book came out and all of a sudden other people liked him too and I didn’t understand it.

Prizoner of Azkaban is my favorite Harry Potter book! I love the marauders! 🙂 Nice tag!

    • Awww I’m sure people would do it! Haha, even if nobody does mine, I still had fun making it 🙂 Yeah, I can understand liking Snape as a villain, but not as a hero. Doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Ooooh I love the Marauders too! JK Rowling should totally write a Marauders-era book 🙂

  10. OMG you hate Snape? He’s awesome! Anyway, I definitely agree with the tags. And my favorite HP book is the Deathly Hallows. 🙂

  11. I LOVE THIS EM! So creative and it’s about time we see where a tag has originated. It would be awesome if the original creator was linked each time these tags go around. I’d love to do this one too. Loved it Em, and thanks for sharing your little piece of brilliance ❤
