Top Ten Sequels I Am Dying To Read

00dc8-toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish.

Each week there’s a different Top Ten list. It’s a great way to find and connect with other awesome bloggers.

By sequels I’m not just including second books but any “next books in a series.” Because I make my own rules.

faking it every move  winter marissa meyer

Faking It by Gabrielle Tozer

SO THIS IS COMING OUT SOON. I love the sound of it. I love the cover (mmm minty green freshness). I love Josie. I just…I’m really excited, okay?

Every Move by Ellie Marney

Awesome Aussie author and awesome crime-fighting duo. I can’t wait to see the shenanigans those two get up to next. But I have to wait until MARCH.

Winter by Marissa Meyer

This is a fan art cover, by the way, so don’t be getting too excited. I TAKE THAT BACK. GET EXCITED. I’m excited. It’s all very exciting (seriously, guys, these next few Top Ten Tuesdays are going to be using a looooot of caps, so buckle your seatbelts).

ensnared half wild spark a thousand pieces of you cover

Ensnared by A G Howard

Ignore Jeb for the moment. We’ll just pretend that it’s all about Morpheus, Delectable Lord of the Moths. And I am so pumped for this one.

Half Wild by Sally Green

You can tell it’s going to be good because of the Slytherin-ness on the cover. I mean, that just TELLS you it’s going to be awesome.

Stray by Rachael Craw

SO this is Spark. But there’s no cover for Stray yet. I don’t think. Stay tuned soon, because I’ll be making my own covers for some. BUT I NEED THE SECOND BOOK.

A Thousand Pieces of You Numero Two by Claudia Gray

We don’t even have a TITLE but I still can’t wait to read it.

heir of firethe wicked will rise deathly hallows

THE NEXT ONE by Sarah J. Maas

Who knows what it’ll be called. Something bad-ass, no doubt. But at least in the meantime we’ll have A Court of Thorns and Roses to flail over.

The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige

I actually really liked the first book. It was gory and brilliant. Can’t wait to read the next installment.

Harry Potter…I just need another book

*whimpers* Pleeeeease?

Now I’ve gone and got myself all excited. Which sequels are you looking forward to??

  1. EVERY MOVE, EVERY MOVE, EVERY MOVE. GAH WHY IS MARCH IS FAR AWAY?!!!!

HAHAHA I’m so excited for Ensnared but Jeb…yeah. Not a fan. I’m just going to, I don’t know, not look at the cover when I read this?? PS. Does he or does he not look like Harry Styles LOL

  2. I’m pretty sure the next Sarah J Maas book is going to be called Breaking of Hearts. Eh. No. Maybe Sword of Stabbing. We went Throne, Crown, Heir, so I reckon it’ll be a weapon. *nods* or MAGIC. It could be Magic of AllourfeelssmushedtogetherandthenbrokenbecauseSarahJMaasismeantohercharactersandreaders. <— Legit. That's what it's going to be. *nods*
ENSNARED THOUGH. I'm terrified of that book. I feel like there's a 89% chance Jeb is going to win this and then I'm going to bawl.
HALF WILD THOUGH ADJFKLASDFAD I CANNOT EVEN AJLSKD SLYTHERIN FOR SURE AJFKLDS NATHAN.

    • Yep, I think you’re right, there. But Magic of AllourfeelssmushedtogetherandthenbrokenbecauseSarahJMaasismeantohercharactersandreaders is a good second guess (also, I admire you for typing that all out. That’s dedication). Ughhhh I don’t WANT Jeb to win. *stamps foot*
YESSSS SO EXCITED FOR HALF WILD 😀 😀

  3. Oh ma goodness! I have a Marissa Meyer book on my list too, except there aren’t enough hours in the day so I haven’t yet read Cress… but Winter is a close second!!!
Also. I’ve noticed how unfair this is. You get to post in the middle of my day and you’re in the next day!!! I’m stuck in the past over here! So you’ll see my TTT only tomorrow (for me tomorrow..for you probably tonight).

  4. …You made me excited with the Winter cover. Grrr. 😛
I can’t wait for Ensnared and Half Wild. Morpheus rocks. 🙂 *whispers* Is that supposed to be Jeb? He looks odd.
And YES, Slytherin is awesome too. I think they get a bit of a bad reputation.
Heir of Fire- I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet and it’s actually out! I need to read it.
We all need another Harry Potter book. Or multiple. PLEASE J.K. ROWLING PLEASEEEEE?

    • HAHA. I’m sorry. Okay, I’m not, because it’s a FABULOUS fan-made cover 😀 yep, of course Jeb looks odd. I don’t like him 😛

Poor Slytherins!! I love Slytherin. It’s a great house.

HEIR OF FIRE IS GREAT 😀

And yes, we need many, many more Harry Potter books 😛

      • It is fabulous. 🙂 I do hope the actual cover has an apple on it.
It’s like, Jeb is likeable but Morpheus is so much more swoon-worthy. 😛
I’m a Hufflepuff, personally, but all Houses rock.
I’LL HAVE TO READ IT SOMETIME. 😀
The world would definitely benefit from more Harry Potters. The global happiness rate would increase by like, 50%. 🙂

  5. Great list! Gosh, I completely forgot about Faking it — but I can’t want to get my hands on a copy of that one, too. I’m also super pumped for Ensnared… because Morpheus. I can’t say I really care for Jeb, but if it means I get another AG Howard book, I’ll put up with him. 😉 SO excited for Every Move, too; it comes out just in time for my birthday, which is AWESOME. 🙂

  6. i need to actually READ Heir of Fire and stop getting so excited when people mention a book i haven’t even seen in print copy. geez.

MORE HARRY POTTER. APPROVED. rowling’s tweeted an “anagram” a few months ago which turned out to *not* to be about the return of harry potter (who knows)… ahh. i eat up anything new about harry potter lol like when the short snipps were released during world cup and on halloween this year *GRINS* =)

  7. Eep eep eep, yes so much to all of Sarah J Maas’ books because she is just pure perfection and I will support her till I die (wow I’m morbid). AND omg I need more Harry Potter as well. I don’t even care if it follows Harry, as long as it’s something based in that world. Why can’t JK be like Terry Pratchett and just continue to churns out books within her world?!

  8. I’m totally with you on the whole Harry Potter thing, it’s so hard to believe that we haven’t had a new book in 7+ years and WE’RE NOT GETTING ANY MORE. How can this be possible, it’s just not fair! As for Throne of Glass, I really need to catch up – I devoured ToG and The Assassin’s Blade two months ago, but I got distracted before I could start Crown of Midnight and I’m two books behind. Also super excited for ACOTAR!

  9. You scared me with the Winter cover. I was going to say, why didn’t I know about this?!? I’m so excited for Winter but it’s not fair that we have to wait for so long!!! I’m also really excited to read Black Dove White Raven by Elizabeth Wein. It’s not really a sequel, but it’s about pilots just like Code Name Verity and Rose Under Fire, so I’m counting it as a sequel.

  10. There’s so many great sequels here…I really should start most of these series. I have The Intern on my Christmas list, so here’s hoping. AND EVERY MOVE!!!!!!!!!!!! *loads of flailing* I need it. That is all. And, and, and you so tricked me with that cover of Winter! It could so totally be the real cover…I’m very curious to see the cover. I wonder when it’ll be released? Probably in TEN MILLION YEARS. Cinder is one of my books for my #endofyearreading goals.

Obviously I really need to read Unhinged soon, because I STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE LOVE FOR MORPHEUS AND HATE FOR JEB. So yes, ahem. I should get onto that soon. I should also probably read Half Bad soon, considering I’ve had a copy since its release…and I need to read Spark, too!

I can’t wait to see the covers and titles for the next book in the Firebird trilogy and the next book in the Throne of Glass trilogy. I am looking forward to The Wicked Will Rise, too – love the cover designs for this series!

AND YES, PLEEEEEASE J. K., MORE HARRY!!!

The sequels that I’m most excited for are Blue Lily, Lily Blue and Every Move. I need them so, so badly.

    • YES THE INTERN IS SO GOOD READ IT 😀 😀 😀 And Every Move is promising to be amaaaaazing, I think. Simply excellent. Winter is coming out in like a whole YEAR *sobs*

HOW CAN YOU LIKE JEB? Clearly we can’t be friends anymore 😛 ohhh and Half Bad is awesome too. AND SPARK. Just…they’re all awesome, okay? 🙂

YES can you imagine how pretty the second book is going to be?? And the title of the next ToG book…neeeeeed to find out what that is. And yes, LOVE the minimalism for Dorothy Must Die and co.

I really need to read some Maggie Stiefvater…

  11. I’m definitely excited to read Winter, too! And Harry Potter, because who shouldn’t read Harry Potter all the time? Also, I’ve only just bought Half Bad by Sally Green, but I appreciate that reference even though I still need to run through the first one myself. Good luck getting through the list!

  12. Yes to (almost) all of these!!
I haven’t read all the ones (first books) I want to that are on this list, but I know that once I do, I too will be desperate for the sequel.
Half Wild and Throne of Glass 4 made it onto my list.
I’m yet to read Spark, A Thousand Pieces of You, Dorothy Must Die and Cinder 2, but I want to! And then I will want the sequels.

  13. Yes, Yes and Yes! Faking It, Stray, and Firebird #2 all have the potential to be fantastic sequels! There are definitely a few series on here I need to start as well. Thanks for sharing Emily 🙂

  14. I bought A Thousand Pieces of You because of my friend’s recommendation (I’m a push-over like that) without even reading the full synopsis. So I didn’t know it was book one of a trilogy. Argh. If I knew I wouldn’t have read it. But I did and I loved it and I can’t wait for book 2. Yay for Claudia Gray!
