While I’m In England

pommyland

If you didn’t know I was going to England, clearly you haven’t been following my blog closely enough.

But anyway, I’m going to England!! The snow on my blog is preparing me for it.

I hope it will snow. I haven’t seen snow since I was seven, and even then it melted within a day.

I’m just hoping it won’t constantly rain. That would make me sad.

ANYWAY. I’m not abandoning you completely.

I’ve scheduled some posts and we’ll have wi-fi so I can still internet (I’ll just be back-to-front, is all). We’re also going to FRANCE for a few days.

Don’t worry, I’ll be taking lots of photos.

I guess you’re all wondering which books I’m taking with me.

CAM00610 CAM00611So we’ve got Dune, An Abundance of Katherines, Veronica Mars, Since You’ve Been Gone, Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares, Let it Snow, The Left Hand of Darkness, Messenger of Fear, Sweet Damage, The Prince, Side Effects May Vary and Magonia.

My sister and I are SHARING the load. I’ve already read Since You’ve Been Gone so she can bring that. We’re also rereading An Abundance of Katherines and Let it Snow (because we couldn’t agree on any new books). Plus there are some school ones – The Prince (which you can’t really see) as well as The Left Hand of Darkness and Dune.

Overall, there are 12 books. Which…is hopefully enough (and I dare say I’ll be buying some while I’m there as well.

However, not everyone is as excited for us to go to England.

This is him being extremely unimpressed. I guess he thinks that if he sits in my luggage, I can’t pack, and therefore I can’t leave him. Poor Angus. AND I WILL MISS HIM. I’ll be away from my darling for a whole month. He’s such a sook, too.

Oh well, I’m sure we’ll live.

The countdown as of today?

Four days. FOUR DAYS, PEOPLE. Have I got any Poms reading this post? Because I’ll be on your soil soon. Isn’t that great?

We’ll also be doing the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London.

And I know a lot of you are Potterheads, so never fear, ALL the photos will be taken (I do realise this won’t suffice, but what can I say? My suitcase is already full of books…and cats, apparently).

So if I’m not around the interwebs as much, that’s why.

Also I’ll probably be freezing my arse off. Going from 40 degrees to almost zero is going to be…an interesting experience.

Anyway, I’ll keep you updated! Have a fantastic Christmas, everybody!

  1. *blows nose* Snow looks pretty in pictures…. and at first when it falls and you can make snow angels!! But when it starts to melt, be sure to wear water proof boots. (possibly ones that come mid-way up to your knees!)*sigh*

Magonia!?!?!??! I NEED THAT BOOK!!!! *gasp*

    I WANT TO GO THERE!!!! The pictures won’t be enough but they’ll do…. for now… HP!!!!!!!!!! ❀ ❀ ❀ ❀

Have fun in England!! Have fun and don't catch a cold cuz that's not at all fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜€

  2. I am a POM! Although I’ve never been called that.. That’s a first, but hey! It’ll probably rain the whole time, and it’ll be weirdly bright and sunny but cold as anything, but I hope you have a WONDERFUL TIME. Prepare and good luck, England is not everything it sounds like, enjoy! πŸ˜€

  3. Your cat is so handsome! Is he of the ragdoll breed? My cats do the same thing when they know we’re going somewhere…when we moved houses last year we kept finding them in random boxes while we were trying to pack!

  4. Have fun in England! Hopefully you will get to see some snow because snow is awesome. I guess I take snow for granted here in America. I never realized that most Aussies don’t really see snow.

Also, I can’t believe that you can actually read that many books when you’re on vacation. I guess it makes sense because you’ll be there for a whole month, but whenever I go on vacations that are like a week long, I bring a ton of books and yet don’t get to read them because I’m too absorbed in doing vacation things. It’s awesome that you can do that, though.

Umm…England is also called Pommyland? Wow, I am so bad with slang. I just had to look up what imo stood for, too.

  5. OMG YOU’RE going to the Harry Potter Studio Tour! I am super jealous and hope you have the best of time in England, and that you have a beautiful white christmas. That is an epic book stash that you are taking with you as well! Have a merry Christmas and Happy New Year Emily ❀

  6. Aw, I feel sad for Angus. AND SAD FOR ME because I will miss your blog posts. 😦 We totally get updates, though, right?!! And Harry Potter Studio Tour?!! I’ve seen Charnell @ Reviews from a Bookworm talk about that, oooh, I wonder if it’s the same tour?! Regardless: SO AWESOME.
But gawwwsh, the airports are going to be crazy busy, right?! πŸ˜‰ I hope you don’t get crushed in any crowds *nods* AND that you have a fabulous time. I approve of your bookstack too. XD

  7. Why do you guys call us Poms? That makes me think we’re apples. πŸ˜›
The HP Studio tour is great. I loved it. Except the anamatronic of Aragog on the ceiling. Worst place to have a spider anamatronic.
Have lots of fun. It’s unlikely to snow in December, but you might well get lucky. πŸ™‚

  8. YES HAVE FUN!!! TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES! (And buy lots of books).
Wow, just learnt that Pommyland is slang for England…whoa.
    I’M A POM!
Greetings, Aussieling, to the Potterish land called Pommy. Or something.
I live in London and I haven’t even done the Harry Potter Studio Tour (hmm, the summer holidays are looking pretty good now)
Sadly it doesn’t look like it’ll snow (but fingers crossed!)…and it might rain but for the most part these wintry days have just been cold and windy (unfortunately)
STILL. Make the most of it! πŸ˜€ (also lots of pictures of France too, because alas I’m not French nor am I living in France)

  9. Have fun! Take lots and lots of pictures, and go SIGHTSEEING!! Have fun at the Harry Potter Studio Tour; I wish I could go. πŸ™‚

  10. OMG, only three days to go!
I really hope you get to see a bit of their white Christmas over there, I can only imagine how magical that would be. I’m so excited to see the photos and you haven’t even left yet! And a Harry Potter tour! OMG, you’ll be beside yourself. And FRANCE! Be prepared to meet a lovely French boy, I see lots of passing and berrets in your future young Em πŸ˜€

Have a wonderful time and can’t wait to see those happy snaps ❀

IF YOU GO LONDON YOU ALSO HAVE TO GO TO BLACKFRIARS BRIDGE AND GO TO THE MIDDLE ON THE LEFT SIDE LOOKING FROM THE STATION BECAUSE TESSA AND JEM GRAFFITI AND OMG FEELS!! (i cried in the middle of the bridge, just sayin’)
HAVE A GRAND OLD TIME OMG I AM SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
